Mr. Ashok  Kumar Shahi, Mayor of Tansen Municipality, Palpa, Lumbini Province, Nepal, and Mr. José Manuel Vilanova, President of the Lumbini Garden Foundation, Spain agree to celebrate this Memorandum of Understanding  guided by the mutual aspiration to:

Strengthen collaboration and goodwill between the Tansen Municipality and the Lumbini Garden Foundation which gives millions of people a special meaning as a city of peace and harmony and also coordinate the construction in Spain of a Buddhist Center, with one of the higghest sitting Buddha in the world and part of the relics link it to his life,Confirm and enhance the relationship between the two parties to foster joint efforts to promote in Spain the traditional culture and philosophy of peace represented by Buddhism and enhance the international influence of the city of Tansen link it in Europe,Establish links that allow them to develop a collaboration in these matters, promote communication, collaboration and exchange information, knowledge and experiences in different sectors,Promote communication, collaboration and exchange of information, knowledge and experiences, especially in matters that affect their economic, social, institutional and cultural development, with the purpose of enhancing sustainability, to optimize the use of available resources and the complementarity of work plans.The Signatories undertake to promote the institutional relations between both of them, including the main respective socio-economic agents, in order to boost and facilitate the following appropriate exchanges.

a) Cultural exchange: The Signatories will facilitate the transfer of knowledge and cultural practices in common areas.

b) Knowledge exchange in the areas of: Agrofood, Technological innovation, Health and Cultural promotion.

c) Tourism: Work will be carried out jointly to promote tourism between Tansen, Palpa, Nepal and Cáceres, Spain, promoting intercultural knowledge that encourages it.

d) Internationally position Cáceres, as a city of PEACE AND HERITAGE OF HUMANITY, with the promotion of the project mentioned in this MOU.

e) On the philosophy of Lord Buddha, mutually promote world peace harmony, kindness, prosperity and cooperation and discourage all kinds of disparities and war  against the humanity.
